Retail
A queue at the counter is not the time to discover your billing is offline.
UniPOS scans, prices, applies the tax and prints, with the catalogue and the tax rules already on the device. The connection is something the software worries about later, on its own.
- Barcode scanning
- GST bills and tax summary
- Stock on every item
- Unlimited counters
At the counter
The shop's day, from the first bill to the drawer count.
Retail lives on speed at the till and honesty at close. UniPOS is built around both.
Scan and bill
Keyboard-style barcode scanners work as they do everywhere else — scan, and the line is on the bill with its price and tax already right.
Stock that reflects the shelf
Levels move as you sell, and a correction is recorded as a correction rather than quietly overwriting the number.
GST on every line
A tax rate and tax code on each product, the CGST and SGST split on the bill for a sale inside your state, IGST for one outside it.
Several counters, one shop
Add a till for the festival rush and take it away afterwards. Counters are not licensed separately on any plan.
Suppliers and purchases
Who you buy from and what came in, kept beside the stock it affected.
Day close against counted cash
Expected against counted, tender by tender, with the shortage or overage on the screen before anyone leaves.
Customers and credit
Regulars, what they bought, and what is still outstanding on their account.
Reports you will open
Sales by category, your top-selling products, takings by payment method, and a GST summary that matches the sales it came from.
Who this is for
Shops UniPOS is shaped for.
The differences between these are real, and UniPOS is set up for the one you run rather than an average of all of them.
Grocery and kirana
Fast scanning, loose and weighed items, and a catalogue big enough to be a nuisance in software that was not built for it.
Hardware and building supplies
Deep catalogues, supplier records, and customers who buy on account and settle later.
Apparel and footwear
Sizes and variants, seasonal price changes pushed to every outlet at once.
Mobile and electronics
High-value stock, serial numbers to keep track of, and repairs that arrive as jobs.
Pharmacy
Careful GST handling and supplier records today. Batch and expiry planned
Books, gifts and general stores
Wide catalogues, small margins, and a day close that has to balance.
Questions
What retail businesses ask us.
Will my barcode scanner work?
If it behaves like a keyboard — which nearly all counter scanners do — yes, on both Android and desktop. No driver, no configuration screen.
Can I run two counters on the same stock?
Yes. Both counters see the same catalogue and the same stock, and both keep billing if the connection drops. Unlimited billing devices are included on every plan.
Does it handle HSN codes and GST rates per product?
Yes. Each product carries its tax code and rate, and the GST summary in your reports groups by both.
What about e-invoicing?
UniPOS does not generate e-invoices with an IRN today. If your turnover puts you above the e-invoicing threshold, tell us before you commit — we would rather lose the sale than mislead you about it.
I already have my products in a spreadsheet.
Bring it. Importing your catalogue and customers is part of onboarding on every plan, not an extra.
